Ergül Ergün has been trained as a shiatsu practitioner at European School of Shiatsu and Shiatsu College in the UK for three years. She has taken courses on Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zen Shiatsu, Acupressure, Qigong, Moxibition, Western medicine in the complementary therapies, food and their energetic functions.
She participated postgraduate training seminars and workshops on back pain, anxiety and insomnia. Her dissertation is on migraine. Her qigong and shiatsu tutors included Cliff Andrews, Carola Beresford-Cooke, Helen Frankenberg, Chris Jarmey, Alec Jones, Paul Lundberg, Anne Palmer, Andrew Parfitt and Nicola Pooley.
She lived in a zen center for 9 months while she was in the UK. She has participated qigong workshops organised by Emei qigong grandmaster Fu Wei Zhong in Turkey. She worked on Korean Hand Acupuncture with Edith Heidelberger, Uyghur Medicine with Nur Muhammed Uyghur, Traditional Indian Medicine Ayurveda with Müge Kasım and Wudang Tai Chi with Wudang master İsmet Himmet. She attended seminars and retreats organised by Assist Prof Oruç Güvenç on Healing with Music on Cenratl Asian Turks and Sufism. She has been practicing meditation for twenty five years and soto-zen for twenty years The Colleges that she has studied and graduated from, namely the Shiatsu College and European School of Shiatsu are accredited schools by the Shiatsu Society in the UK.
