8 Strands of Brocade Qigong (Baduan jin)

Eight Strands of Brocade Qigong is one of the oldest Qigong techniques,dating back over 3,000 years.  It is a dynamic set of eight special exercises, done very gently, with natural breathing and concentration, that promotes the flow of chi energy and blood. Brocade is a bright coloured silk, highly treasured. Our health needs to be treasured like brocade.

When practiced regularly:

Stretches the muscles

Strengthens the joints and bones

Improves coordination, flexibility, circulation

is beneficial to all systems and organs.

1. Movement is for the Triple Heater and Pericardium meridians

2. For Lungs and Large Intestine

3. For Spleen and Stomach

4. For Eyes, Tendons, Muscles, Joints, Liver and Gall Bladder

5. For Energy and Strength, for Heart and Small Intestine

6. For Kidneys and Bladder

7. For Heart and Liver

8. Gently massages all the internal organs and releases the tension

It is recommended to do the exercises at least 3 to 4 times a day to get the maximum benefit.
